 Suzy Juarros, Principal, Grades 3-4

Having been a classroom teacher for grades K, 3, 4, 5, and 6 for more than 15 years, Suzy Juarros brings experience with all age groups to her classroom and to her role as principal.  Her background in art and graphic design helps support our commitment to providing quality art education in grades K-8.  Mrs. Juarros has a degree in art, French, and education from Andrews University and certification in teaching K-8.  She is continuing with graduate work in education at Otterbein college.  Mrs. Juarros graduated from WAA's forerunner school, as did her two daughters. 

 

 
Carmie Ouzounian - K


Carmie Ouzounian has over 20 years of caring experience working with young learners. She spent 12 years teaching in a day care setting and has spent many summers working with kids at summer camp. She began teaching kindergarten in the 1990's. Mrs. Ouzounian received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Andrews University in 1985. She has endorsements in reading, history, and religion, and has received additional training through Chapman University, Columbus State and Andrews University.


Heather Thorward - Grades 1 & 2

Heather Thorward is the primary teacher for grades 1 and 2.  Heather graduated from Malone College in 2007.  She grew up in Worthington, Ohio and is an alumni of our school.  Heather joined WAA in 2010. 





Latsi Stewart - Language Arts

Latsi Stewart has over ten years of experience, teaching in various grade levels ranging from first grade to ninth grade. She earned a B.S. in English from Wittenberg University and a Masters in Education from The Ohio State University. She also has an endorsement in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Latsi joined WAA in 2007.


 


Melissa O'Neill - Grades 5-8

Melissa O'Neill has 14 years of teaching experience working with students from Pre-K - 8th grade. She has taught for the Ohio Conference in multi-grade classrooms, taught Language Arts and Social Studies in public school, worked as Director of Education for a Sylvan Learning Center and as a teacher in early childhood education.  Mrs. O'Neill earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Lake Erie College in 1992. She has returned to teaching after several years at home with her daughter who will begin attending WAA this year.
